TV Energy Saving Tips![]()
Facts
My opinions with facts includedLet's see who wants to save energy, and money at the same time? Yeah, that's what I thought I mean seriously who doesn't want more money in their pockets. There might be some questons you have like what's the difference in unplugging and just turning off my TV ? Well I'll tell you. You know the good times when there weren't big old LCD TVs ? There were just TVs period. We should go back to that time because the big LCDs use over 300 more watts than our old TVs. And on standby they use four watts to stay hot. So you're still saying no; I don't wanna turn off my brand new LCD. A house of electricity puts out more carbon dioxide than four cars. That has to be the worst thing I can think of over four trillion, maybe more or maybe less, houses putting off that much carbon dioxide from burning coal. Oh and another thing use hard power downs on TVs and computers whenever possible. Also any other electronic device should be unplugged when not being used or not charging anything. There are these new things called auto power strips that turn off after a certain number of hours. They are really cool but you have to unplug them after the devices have been turned off. Turn down the backlight of your TV, and put it on power save mode if it has one. It typically uses 15 watts or less but, come on, that is better than 400!
