NJHS

NJHS is an organization that is designated for those students whose average is above 90 in all academic fields. The goal of the club is to serve the community and be a role model for the school. The members must have ten community service hours before December and an additional eight hours before May. Many of the NJHS members participate in community organizations, volunteering at the local nursing home, the Ladies of Charity, Teen Court, The Vet, and Family Advocacy Center thrift shops.

Requirements for becoming an NJHS member are:

  • No discipline marks on individual records
  • S or E in their citizenship for all classes during any marking period
  • Overall average of 90 or higher for each marking period
The organization is mixed with 7th and 8th graders, but currently has only 8th graders due to the fact that a student must be enrolled in the school for a full semester before nominations. This will mean that current 7th graders making a 90 or higher at semester break will be asked to join the organization.
