Bastrop, Texas is located 25 miles east of Austin, TX on SH 71.  It lies on the banks of the Colorado river along an isolated group of loblolly pines collectively called Lost Pines Forest.
Incorporated in 1837 by Stephen F. Austin, Bastrop is the 2nd-oldest town in Texas and has
