The Confederate guns were used during the civil war. The brown turkey platter in the center of the Confederate guns was owned by Benjamin Franklin and was donated by the Professor T. C. Franklin family. |

In the left hand corner of the display case you see a leather wallet. It was used during the Civil War by Capt. Dan Grady. The silver spoons you see were taken from Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto by Capt. Dan Grady. On the right hand side of the silver spoons there is a powder horn that was used in the battle of San Jacinto. The pink dress in the lower left hand corner belonged to Mary Wilbarger. |

The rawhide chair was from the family of Jessie Grimes, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Alfred Calvin Grimes, second son in this family, died fighting at the Alamo at the age of eighteen. |

At the museum, there is a collection of Confederate State Currency, State Currency, Texas Treasury Warrants, Bastrop County Exchange Certificate, Fractional Currency and War Tax Receipt. |

The picture to the left depicts the Annexation of Texas. On February 19, 1846, the flag-raising ceremony was in Austin as Texas became the 28th state. The picture highlights President Anson Jones, last President of the Republic, Governor J. Pickney Henderson, first Governor of Texas, and President James K. Polk, President of the United States. |
