Dress Code
General Guidelines:
- Clean body and clothing;
- Pants, slacks, shorts, or
skirts worn at the waistline;
- Covered midriff;
- Shirts may be worn out,
unless they are longer than the bottom of
the fingertips when the arms are fully
extended at the side;
- Appropriate shoes; no
house shoes;
- Appropriate
undergarments;
- Shorts must be as long as
the bottom of the fingertip with the arms
fully extended at the side.
The following clothing/ornamentations
are not permitted:
- Cut-offs, biker shorts,
boxer-style briefs and wind shorts;
- Sexually suggestive clothing
(see-through, tank tops, spaghetti straps,
clothes with holes that are cut-up, or
exposed backs and fronts, visible underwear,
etc.
- Crude or vulgar language or pictures;
- Drug, tobacco, or alcohol related
language or pictures;
- Racial/ethnic slurs, or discriminatory
language or pictures;
- Gang affiliated clothing (altered hats,
shirts, hairnets, belt buckles, etc.)
- Flagging or posting of colors. No items
draped over shoulder, neck or hung out of
pocket;
- Oversized clothing (pants, shirts,
belts);
- Unhemmed clothing;
- Metal or hard tap shoes;
- Sunglasses inside building unless
prescribed by a doctor;
- Headbands, neckbands, legbands,
armbands, bandanas, etc.
- Hats and caps in building;
- Visible tattoos;
- Earrings on students in any body parts
except ears (See Specific Guidelines
General);
- Wallet chains;
- Extreme hairstyles (mohawks, spikes,
etc.) and coloring.
Specific Guidelines General
- Appropriate earrings or studs are
acceptable in girls ears. Boys may wear no
more than one stud.
Specific Guidelines for Boy's Grooming:
- Hair must be neat and clean.
Specific Guidelines for Girl's Grooming:
- Hair must be neat and clean.
- Girl's skirts must be as
long as the bottom of the fingertip, with
normal movement, with the arm fully extended
at the side. If the skirt has a slit, the
slit may not be higher than the bottom of
the fingertip with the arm fully extended at
the side.
